Bandit was a great doggie! He got the name Bandit because the brown around his eyes made it look like he had a mask on. His fur was as soft as down feathers.
He was very smart, gentle, affectionate, and loved to play fetch and then keep-away with his squeaky ball.
He was a natural bird dog and would stalk and point out birds. He loved running in our large backyard. He was VERY fast!
Bandit loved Christmas. He helped open everyone's gifts by gently biting the wrapping paper and tearing it off. He never tired of this.
We got into the habit of giving Bandit a doggie treat around 9 pm in the evening. He knew exactly (well, within a couple of minutes) when it was 9 pm and he let us know every single evening when it was treat time! We joked that we could set our clocks by him.
Bandit was the only dog in our family for 11 years, then we brought in another Brittany, a 6 week old puppy named Shadow. Bandit accepted the puppy almost immediately, and they became life friends. We firmly believe Shadow brought renewed life and longevity to Bandit, and he lived for 17 years, 4 months, well beyond the 13 year average life expectancy for his breed.
Bandit enjoyed great health his entire life, and departed very peacefully.
Now that Bandit is in doggie heaven, we miss him greaty. We know his little brother Shadow misses him too.
